ChannelCraft Studio is a friendly theme editor for RetroBat. Change colours, fonts, pictures and layouts with a live preview, and never worry about breaking anything.

Everything you need to craft a theme

Point, click and drag. The app handles the theme files for you.

Live preview

See every screen as RetroBat will show it: system menu, game lists, grids, settings and more, for any console.

Drag to place

Click any part of the screen to select it, then drag it into place. Arrow keys nudge, Shift moves further.

Colour sets

Edit a theme’s shared colours once and every element that uses them updates together.

Per-game looks

Give a single game its own look with “Only this game”, written the way RetroBat 8.3 reads it.

Your own pictures

Keep your pictures, videos, sounds and fonts in one place and drop them straight onto the screen.

Works with real themes

Opens any installed theme, with its includes, options and conditions, and keeps the files tidy when it saves.

Tinker without the worry

Your RetroBat setup took time to get right. ChannelCraft Studio is built so you can play around without losing any of it.

  • Nothing changes until you save Experiment freely. RetroBat only sees your changes when you press Save.
  • Automatic backups A zip of the theme is made before the first save of each session.
  • Undo everything Every edit can be undone, including dropped-in pictures and deleted elements.
  • Edit a copy Remix the theme you use and keep the original safe to switch back to.

From install to new look in minutes

Four steps. No config files, no command line.

    Point it at RetroBat

    Pick the folder with RetroBat.exe. Your installed themes appear straight away.

    Pick a theme

    Start from the built-in starter, duplicate the theme you use, or import a .zip.

    Make it yours

    Change colours, fonts, pictures and layouts with the live preview beside you.

  4. 4
    Save and play

    Save, set it as RetroBat’s theme and launch RetroBat from the app.
